For sale is a terrific antique firkin in great old, if not original yellow and red paint that I acquired on a trip to the Midwest and East Coast recently It measures about 10" tall, 10" in diameter on the top, and 11 1/4" in diameter on the bottom, and is in nice antique condition, with nice signs of age including paint craquelure, surface dirt, etc., and a bit of the banding on the lid is missing. Antique Folk Art White Poodle Pen Wipe Ex Burmann

For sale is a cute antique folk art white poodle pen wipe that I have had in my private collection for awhile, and that was previously in the collection of Susie and Rich Burmann. The poodle appears to be raw wool, and has bead eyes and nose, a red felt tongue, and is standing on 3 layers of wool felt, red on top, and 2 layers of black. The poodle also has a black bead on its neck that I suppose is meant to look like a dog tag. The pen wipe measures about 4" long, 2 1/4" tall, and 2 1/4" wide, and is in nice, but antique condition, with surface dirt, small holes, etc., but very displayable. For sale is an antique folk art eagle butter print that I have had for quite awhile in my private collection. I think that it was probably made in Pennsylvania, but I can't completely verify that. Early 1800's Embroidered Silk Huswif Sewing Pocket

For sale is an absolutely charming antique early 1800's handmade huswif or sewing pocket that I acquired at an outdoor market in Pennsylvania. It may have been made there as well, but I can't verify that. It is completely hand sewn of silk that has embroidered fruit, I believe, completed in brown and red silk thread thread. There are 3 pockets, and 3 layers of wool at the bottom for holding pins and needles. In addition, included with the piece is some kind of carved bone implement, possibly for holding strands of thread or weaving??? The pocket measures about 9 1/4" long and 3 1/8" wide, and is in nice antique condition, with overall toning, a few light stains, as well as some tiny holes on the back. For sale is a wonderful antique Pennsylvania folk art tin food mold with a flower or radial design in the bottom. It is fluted on the sides, and there is a metal hanger for display. For sale is a really cute vintage, possibly antique, German gray and black poodle dog stuffed toy that I acquired in Pennsylvania. I believe that the fabric is a curly mohair, although I'm not positive. The little guy has glass eyes backed with red wool felt, a red wool felt tongue, and sports a red satin ribbon around its neck, although I don't think that is original. It measures about 8" long nose to tail, 6 3/4" tall, and 2 3/4" wide, and is in nice vintage/antique condition, with some expected wear,but no significant issues. Vintage Velvet Rabbit on Wheels w/Moving Mouth/Ear

For sale is a wonderful vintage, possibly antique, gray velvet rabbit push toy that I acquired in Pennsylvania. I believe that it is most likely German, and it has metal wheels under the body. What is sweet about it is that when you push it, its ears wiggle a little bit and its mouth moves. It has glass eyes and a stitched nose, and the inside of its mouth is pink wool felt. The bunny is stuffed with excelsior and measures about 11 1/2" long to the end of its tail, 7" tall, and 5 1/2" wide. It is in very nice vintage/antique condition, with some expected wear, light brown toning in some areas, but no holes, rips, or repairs. For sale is an absolutely Burlington Pennsylvania folk art button bag that I acquired in Paradise, Pennsylvania. It is constructed of 2 print fabrics, as well as a solid red cotton fabric. One of the print fabrics depicts a young couple in a boat done in several shades of brown, as well as some cream and red. The other print fabric is a brown cream and red floral. On the front is the design of 2 either girls or women with a young child between them that is very naively done using buttons and hand stitching. The drawstring is either some kind of seen binding tape or possibly a shoe string. The bag measures about 6 1/4" tall and 5 1/4" wide when fully open, and is in very nice antique condition,with one small hole on the back, but no significant issues. For sale is a charming very small size antique 19th century folk art pinprick watercolor, ink, and pencil depiction of a young girl holding flowers standing in the grass. It is housed in a black painted frame with a metal loop hanger. The framed piece measures about 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" with sight measurements of 3 7/8" x 2 7/8". It has an embroidered stylized tree at the bottom, flanked by the initials "EV" and "GR", along with diamond shapes. There are also woven what look to be horizontal rows of embroidery that form stripes on the homespun, and the top and bottom are fringed. For sale is a very nice antique embroidered and crocheted homespun show towel. At the top are the initials "ME" with an upside down heart underneath. Embroidered designs include a very stylized vase of flowers (I think), flanked by hearts, and below a pair of lovebirds with what looks like flower stems on their heads, flanked by very stylized flowers (again, I think, lol). The crocheted panel also depicts what I think are very stylized flowers as well, and the bottom is fringed. Antique Homespun Lady's Sewing Pocket w/ Squirrel

For sale is an antique, most likely one of a kind, Victorian folk art lady's sewing pocket that I have had for many years. It is completely hand sewn of homespun, and has an embroidered squirrel surrounded by sort of a shield design. In addition, The entire perimeter is trimmed with scalloped lace. There is also a homespun handle that I think would have been worn around the neck, although I'm not absolutely positive about that. The piece measures about14 1/4" long including the lace, but not the handle, and 12 1/2" wide, and the handle rises from the top about 6 1/2" when fully extended. It is in wonderful antique condition, with no holes, rips, tears, or stains, and just one tiny area on the squirrel where a stitch or 2 has pulled away, barely worth noting, but mentioned for the sake of complete accuracy. For sale is an antique 19th century folk art painted pantry box that I acquired from a sale in Pennsylvania, and that may have been made there as well, although I can't verify that. The lid and bottom of the box are painted black, and there is a stenciled fruit design on the lid completed in green, yellow, blue, red, and white. The piece measures about 11 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/2" tall, and is in nice, but antique condition, with wear and craquelure, signs of use, and a very tight stable crack on the interior that doesn't show very much on the exterior. For sale is a beautiful vintage, possibly antique, folk art scherenschnitte that depicts a pair of oversized lovebirds in a very stylized tree. I was told that it was made in Germany, but I don't know for sure. The scissor cutting is placed on a blue background, and housed in a hand carved frame that may have been made in the Black Forest, although again, I don't know for sure. The framed piece measures about 17" tall and 15" wide, with sight measurements of 11 1/2" x 9 1/2". It is in very nice vintage/antique condition, with nice signs of age, but no significant issues. Antique Working German Birdcage Pipsqueak Ex Smith

For sale is a very sweet antique German birdcage pipsqueak that has 3 composition birds inside, one yellow, one, blue, and one red. This piece was previously in the collection of Curtis and Linda Smith. The birds are perched on what looks like some kind of dried plant, all with their wings outspread. The cage is made of thin wire and some type of natural straw or other fiber, and the bellows/squeaker is wood and paper. There is what looks like an inventory number on the bottom, as well as a sticker with remnants of writing on it. The pipsqueak measure about 6" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter on the bottom, and is in very nice antique working condition, although the squeak isn't really very loud. For sale is a wonderful antique nice large size German brown mohair horse pull toy. It has glass eyes, leather ears, and horsehair mane and tail. In addition, it retains its original leather and felt saddle. The toy measures about 20" tall, and the platform is about 19 1/2" x 5 3/4". The horse itself is about 17" tall, 16" long not including the tail, and 5" wide. It is in nice antique condition, with nice signs of age and use, including some bites out of the felt on the saddle, some wear on the mohair, and surface dirt. Antique PA. Multicolor Silk Huswif Sewing Roll-up

For sale is an antique handmade huswif/sewing rollup that I acquired in Pennsylvania, and that I am sure was made there as well. It is hand sewn, and has 8 pockets that are made of a nice variety of silk fabrics in pink, yellow, and blue, some of which are brocades. At the bottom there is a 6-layer semicircle for holding pins and needles. In addition, I looked at the interior of the piece, and it looks like the back has been reinforced with striped linen fabric, possibly homespun. There is also paper on the reverse side of each pocket. The sewing pocket measures about 20" long and 4 1/2" wide, and is in nice antique condition, with some fading on the back, and the felt has detached about 1" from the bottom of the pocket, an easy fix for the new owner.

Antique 1814 Homespun Pillow Sham w/Initials, Tree

For sale is a wonderful antique homespun pillow cover or sham with a small embroidered tree or flower stem with the date of 1814 and the initials "MFSM" (I think). I acquired the piece at a sale in Pennsylvania, and it may have been made there, but I can't verify that. There are also 2 rows of crocheting on one end, on of which is a sort of chevron pattern, and the other wider row depicting peacocks, although you can only really see the design when pillow is inserted in the piece. In addition, there are 2 sets of ties on the open end. The piece measures about 35" x 23", and is in very nice antique condition, with no significant issues. For sale is a very nice antique Pennsylvania folk art double sided pieced bolster cover. There is both hand and machine stitching, One side has 5 quilt blocks placed on point, with log cabin blocks on each end, and framed 9 patch blocks in between. The other side is a simple bars pattern, and fabrics used on both sides are nice old calicos and other prints. It both hand and treadle machine sewn, has a scalloped neckline that is enhanced with red embroidery, and there is also embroidery on the bodice and sleeves. For sale is a darling antique brown and cream plaid cotton child's dress. It is treadle machine sewn, I believe, and closes in the back with 3 glass buttons, which are also made to look like plaid, and the bodice and sleeves are lined with unbleached cotton. Measurements are as follows: length - 19 3/4", shoulder to shoulder - 10" across, bust 24", neck opening - 3 1/2" across, sleeve length - 8", sleeve opening - 3 1/4" across, and bottom opening - 23 1/2" across. Antique Folk Art Strip Star Quilt

For sale is a graphic antique folk art strip star quilt that I acquired in Indiana, and that I'm think was made there as well. It is hand pieced and hand quilted, and each star is unique. The quilt has 2 different borders, one brown, white, and blue plaid, and the other a black and white plaid. The backing is white cotton, possibly homespun, and the binding is yellow cotton. The quilt measures about 87" x 85", and is in very nice antique condition, with some brown stains on the back, but no flaws on the front. Ca. 1900 Red & White Floral Quilt for Poster Bed

For sale is a terrific antique ca. 1900 red and white quilt for a poster bed with appliqued flowers as well as a swag design around the perimeter. It is quilted in a variety of designs including stars, various types of leaves, flowers, as well as diagonal lines and small circles. It is filled with raw cotton, and you can see seeds when the quilt is held up to the light. The backing fabric is the same as the front, and at some point, a wide casing was added for display. The quilt measures about 78" x 72", and is in very nice antique condition, with a few very light stains, mainly on the back, and only mentioned for the sake of complete accuracy. For sale is a charming vintage primitive folk art bird on spool pin cushion. It is made of a geometric pattern fabric that resembles connected 6-point stars, and sits on a nice early spool that bulges in the middle. For sale is a very nice antique dated 1842 show towel that has many different embroidered designs including the numbers 0-9, and a partial alphabet at the top, as well as the name "Anna Hosteter". in the bottom half, there are embroidered stars, stylized urns, I believe, as well as other more abstract designs. There is also very narrow fringe at the bottom. Antique 1837 Show Towel w/Bird Tree, Hearts ++

For sale is a fabulous antique dated 1837 unbleached homespun linen show towel that is also signed "Maria K.E.E H(?) Portz" in red embroidery. Other embroidered designs include flower sprigs at the top, a central flowering tree flanked by hearts with birds atop, and flowering vines flanking the hearts. At the bottom, there is a crocheted panel with a tree in the center that has birds perched on branches at the bottom, and peacocks perched on branches in the middle. There are flowers, or possibly stars flanking the birds, and a more abstract design above the peacocks that could represent crowns, although I don't know for sure. In addition, the bottom is trimmed with tasseled fringe. The show towel measures about 56" x 18", and is in superb condition, with no noticeable flaws, although there is a single brown streak in between the "M" and "A" in Maria. The petit point is encircled with hand crocheted lace, and has been placed in an appropriate frame that indicates it was framed in Paris. In addition, there is a metal loop on the back for hanging. For sale is a wonderful antique Pennsylvania embroidered show towel with a variety of designs including an altar at the top, flanked by 8-point stars and flower stems, with a flower wreath below with what at least to me, look like very stylized vases of flowers. Below that are flower sprigs on each side with a design that incorporates a central heart with flowers and other flourishes in the middle. Above and below those designs is the alphabet, and the top portion is folded down, almost appearing as a separate piece of homespun. Near the bottom there is a bird tree, with 2 pairs of birds appearing to be perched on a branch, and another pair atop a very stylized and oversize tulip ( at least I think that's what it is). The bird tree has a stylized flower design on each side, and at the very bottom there is a flowering bush with deer on each side, as well as the numbers 1 through 9 below. The towel measures about 61" x 16 1/2", and is in nice antique condition, with light toning and some brown spots, as well as a few small holes/fabric separation, but at least in my opinion, it displays very well. For sale is a wonderful antique dated 1831 show towel. It has the name Esther at the top, but most of the surname is worn away. At the top there is a central very stylized tree flanked by peacocks, as well as other designs. There is a horizontal row of decorative embroidery in the center, and near the bottom, there are 2 peacocks with flower sprigs on each corner. Below that are the initials "EK" with flowers and stars on each side, and at the very bottom, there is a horizontal row of embroidery in a zigzag design. The towel measures about 64" x 17", and is in nice antique condition, with the previously mentioned area of missing embroidery, and a few light stains, but no serious flaws. For sale is a very sweet and fairly small size antique 1814 show towel. I acquired it from a sale in Pennsylvania, but I'm not sure if this one was made there because of the crown motifs. In addition to the crowns at the top, there are 2 small crocheted panels with trees on each side of the date, an embroidered bird tree with the initials AH, flanking the bottom of the tree, what look like stylized trees or flowers below. At the bottom is the name Anna Histand flanked by 8-point stars, and a crocheted panel with what look like flower trees, again with the initals "AH" between them, and narrow fringe at the bottom. For sale is a wonderful antique dated 1861 show towel that also has the name "Anna Byler" I believe. Images include 2 8-point stars in the upper corners, a wreath encircling the date, a basket of fruit with 2 bird siting atop it, flanked by leaf or flower sprigs. It is rather unusual, having been completed on a textured cotton using wool yarn in plum, maroon, mustard yellow, tan, and teal. In addition, there is fringe at the top, and tasseled fringe at the bottom. The piece measures about 53" long including the fringe, and 17 1/2" wide. It is in very nice antique condition, with the only minor issue being a bit of missing yarn/thread in the last name and on the wreath, where a leaf appears to be mostly gone. For sale is a wonderful and I believe early, folk art tole painted tin canister/box that I believe original held some kind of spice. I acquired it from a sale in Pennsylvania, and I am certain that it was made there as well. The design is of stylized flowers, and it encircles the perimeter, along with commas along the bottom. The top has a sort of "X" design, also possibly depicting a flower, and there is an applied handle on the lid. The piece measures about 4 1/2" in diameter on top, 3 1/4" in diameter on the bottom, and 3" tall, and is in nice, but antique condition, with a wonderfully aged patina, lots of crazing on the paint, rust, and some minor dings/dents on the bottom but no holes. For sale is a terrific vintage Pennsylvania folk art hooked rug that depicts a central design of 4 open hands, with heart in hand designs in the corners that are connected by floral branches. For sale is a wonderful antique most likely German from the early 1900's to 1920's, theorem painted velvet tabby cat stuffed toy that was formerly in the collection of Rich and Susie Burmann. It has glass eyes, and a studded leather collar with a bell below, and is stuffed with straw. Vintage 7 1/2" Square Amish Stumpwork Pin Cushion

For sale is a nice vintage, possibly antique Amish folk art stumpwork pillow pin cushion that I acquired from Maryland, but that is most likely from Pennsylvania. The stumpwork is done in a medium brown and cream, has a braided hanger with a pompom on the end, and the backing is red cotton. The pin cushion measures about 7 1/2" square and 2" thick, and is in vintage/antique condition, with some fabric shredding, staining, etc. on the back, but no significant issues on the front. It should be noted, however, that I think that the cream colored yarn has faded from its original pink color, which you can see upon close examination. It has a wide crocheted bottom that depicts 2 leaping deer, with a large flower in the center, and 8-point stars or possibly flowers in the corners. There is also tassel decoration along the bottom. 19th C. PA. Folk Art Bandbox w/Tulip Design

For sale is a wonderful antique 19th century folk art pantry/bandbox that I found in Ohio, but that was made in Pennsylvania. It is constructed with splints and wooden pegs. On both the lid and sides, there is a very stereotypical PA. Dutch style design of red tulips with yellow centers, and almost comma shaped leaves on the lid. The box measures about 17 1/2" long, 8 1/2" wide, and 5 3/4" tall, and is in nice but antique condition, with a dark aged patina, an area of missing wood on the top, as well as expected wear around the edges on both the lid and box. There is what looks like a crack on the lid, but I believe that 2 pieces of wood were used in its construction, as when you look on the inside, the line is very straight, and the grain doesn't quite match. Early 19th C. Memorial Sampler w/Verse, Owl, Cows

For sale is an antique early 19th century folk art sampler. I believe that the piece is probably English, and there is a religious verse at the top that reads "How great thy goodness, gracious Lord, What love doth dwell in thee: Through every season of my life Thou has remember'd me." The verse is flanked by 2 different vases/urns of flowers, and there is a stylized tulip vine underneath. The lower half has what looks like a gravestone with an urn on top, as well as a variety of flowering plants, birds, including an owl, and what look like 2 cows. In addition, there is a butterfly in the upper left corner, and the entire composition is framed with a strawberry vine border. The sampler is housed in an antique frame with a gold inner liner behind the glass, and although the frame is antique, I'm unsure if it is original. The framed piece measures about 15 3/8" x 13 3/4" with sight measurements of 12 3/8" x 10 3/4", and is in antique condition, with overall light toning, a few tiny brown spots, and a few tiny holes, mainly around the edges. For sale is an antique calligraphy on lined paper that depicts a bird with a banner, along with other flourishes. I believe that it was made as a reward of merit. It is done in 4 different colors, purple, pink/red, gold/tan, and blue, and includes writing that says "Harrison School 1889" at the bottom. It also includes the name of the recipient at the top, but I can't quite make it out, as well as the name of the maker that says "By E.B. Hege Teacher". The calligraphy has been placed on acid free backing before being put back into what I think is the original frame. The framed piece measures about 11" x 9 1/2" with sight measurements of 9" x 7 1/2". It is in nice antique condition, with minor yellowing and a few areas of light foxing, but it displays very well. Antique Brass Plated Iron Double Betty Lamp

For sale is a terrific antique folk art brass plated iron double betty lamp that I have had for a long time. The design depicts birds, and there are other designs hammered into the metal. It retains its original hanger, and measures about 11 1/4" long including the hanger. The larger lamp measures about 9" tall and 2 1/4"a wide at the top, while the smaller one measures about 5 1/2" tall and 2 1/4" wide at the top. The bowl of each is about 2" in diameter not including the spout, which is about 1 1/4" long. Antique Primitive Folk Art Dog Skittle

For sale is a terrific antique dog skittle that I acquired from a seller in Maryland. The doggie appears to be completely hand sewn of wool fabric, and has black bead eyes, as well as embroidered nose and mouth. He is stuffed with raw wool I believe, and sits on a wooden half sphere base that is weighted on the bottom. In addition, the top of the base appears to be covered in paper, as there are visible wrinkles. The skittle measures about 6" tall, and the dog itself is about 4" tall, 2 1/2" wide when measured from its back legs, and 3 1/2" front to back including its tail. It is in primitive antique condition, with surface dirt, and areas where the stuffing is exposed, mostly on its left front paw, but at least in my opinion, it displays very well. For sale is a wonderful antique iron oil/grease betty lamp with a rooster finial that I have had for a long time. It may be French, as I saw a very similar piece that was stated to be French, but I don't know for sure. Early 19th C. Folk Art Double Sided Butter Print

For sale is a wonderful antique early 19th century American primitive folk art double sided butter print. I think that it may have been made in Pennsylvania, but it could also have been made somewhere in New England, as that is where I acquired it. The large side depicts a radial sort of leaf design with stars in between each leaf, and has a sawtooth border. It measures about 4 3/4" in diameter and1" thick. The small side depicts a 4-petal flower with smaller flowers in between each petal, and a piecrust border. It measures about 3 3/4" in diameter and 1/2" thick. The entire piece measures about 2 1/2" thick, and is in antique condition, with significant signs of age and use including shrinkage and cracks. The carved surface of each feels used, not having sharp edges at all, and it looks like the piece may have been near a heat source at some point. The linen bodice buttons down the front, and the blouse/jacket has a ruffled sailor style collar, as well as ruffles down the front on both sides of the hidden button fasteners. For sale is a sweet and small size antique ca. 1920's or so 2-horse pull or push toy, most likely German, that I have had for quite a few years. The horses are composition and wood, and I believe they are smoke painted. They have hand painted manes and facial features, and their tails look like shredded rope. The platforms are painted wood with wooden wheels, and the reins, bridle, etc. are leather. The toy measures about 6 1/2" tall, 5 3/4" wide wheel to wheel, and 6" front to back. For sale is an absolutely charming antique 19th century folk portrait of a young dark haired child playing the harp. I believe that it is rendered in gouache, but there is a surprise on the reverse that depicts a blonde child also playing the harp that appears unfinished. The painting is housed in a period metal frame with its original hanging loop, and it should be noted that when the piece was removed for examination, it revealed that the glass is beveled. For sale is a terrific graphic vintage handmade folk art penny rug or table mat that I acquired at an antique show in Ogden, Utah. It is completely hand made using bright wool felt on a natural linen background. It is backed with cream colored felt, and measures about 34" in diameter.
