Very Bold and Graphic Painted Parcheesi Gameboard

19th century. New England origin. Single pine wood board with breadboard ends. Original free hand painted playing surface in black and off white paint. Surface shows great wear, age and dryness to paint. Backside was never painted and looks like it was probably used as a breadboard because of its mellow soft patina and wear. This gameboard reflects a wonderful primitive warmth due to its handmade, slightly crude, design and uncomplicarted color scheme. Measures 23 1/2" by 18".

Potato Stamped Splint Covered Woodland Basket

19th century. Northeast USA, probably of Iroquois origin in New York state. Very nicely stylized decoration with two hearts on the cover top. Never had any handles. In good condition with some breaks and missing splint weavers, especially in the corners. Measures 19" long by 13" wide by 7" high.

Incredible Millinery Basket of Fruit Under Glass

Last Quarter of 19th century. Found near Chicago. An polychrome stylized arrangement of paper mache and beaded glass fruit and berries held together by wire in a splint compote style basket. All preserved for generations on a black wooden base under a hand blown glass dome. In overall very good condition except for some minor breaks and losses. Measures 16" long by 8" deep by 16" high.

Early Paint Decorated Splint Utility Work Basket

Early to mid 19th century. New England origin. Original dry painted gray green paint with darker drab green painted sponging. Never had any handles. Interior is not painted. Wrapped splint rim. There is some breakage and missing splint in two bottom corners and on the bottom. Measures 14" long by 11" wide by 5" high.

Early 19th century. New England origin. Hand carved from a single piece of pine wood in original green paint. Original mirrored glass. Nice wear to hole used for hanging. Backside shows a wooden, never painted, dark patina from oxidation. In very good condition that shows nice normal wear from usage. Measures 10 1/8" high by 7 1/8" wide bt 3/4" thick.

19th century. Northeast America origin. Unsigned and stamped "3" gallon stoneware jug with a nice strong blue folky flower decoration. With hand carved pine wood stopper. In very good condition except for two shallow chips on spout. Measures 16" tall.

19th century. Probably of Pennsylvania origin. Cotton fabric all hand sewn, stuffed with raw cotton, and with black shoe button eyes. A few very neatly hand done patches and mends along with wear from being so loved by a child. Measures roughly 15" long by 12" high by 4" wide.
